Kindle’s Most Popular Bookmarks
Those of you who use Kindle’s bookmark feature may be surprised to know that (a) Amazon.com collects related data and (b) makes collected information about bookmarks available to the public.
I’m at once disturbed and fascinated — disturbed because, as a reader, what I thought were personal notes for myself are in fact data that get “crunched.” At the same time, though, it is interesting to see what other find highlight-worthy.
Amazon.com makes the highlight information available on its website. Not surprisingly, the Bible ranks up there as one of the most highlighted books of all time. Dan Brown and William P. Young seem to do all right, as well.
If you’d like to see what passages are the most highlighted ever for Kindle, go here, and for their top books of all time, try here. Those interested to see highlighted sections from “Poorly Made in China” can try here.
